Dr. Biswajyoti Hazarika is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over 25–30 years of clinical experience, currently serving as the Principal Director of Surgical Oncology (Head & Neck) at Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, which is also known as Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) in Gurugram, Delhi NCR, India.
He is an alumnus of Gauhati Medical College, where he completed his MBBS; he earned his MS in ENT from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, before completing a fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru.
Dr. Hazarika specializes in the surgical management of complex head and neck malignancies, including cancers of the oral cavity, throat, larynx, thyroid, parathyroid, and salivary glands, as well as intricate skull-base tumors. His practice emphasizes functional preservation and advanced surgical techniques, utilizing Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS), laser microsurgery, and microvascular reconstructive procedures to maintain speech, swallowing, and appearance while achieving total tumor clearance. Before leading the unit at FMRI, he held senior leadership positions at prominent institutions including Artemis Hospitals and Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket.
