Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist at Artemis Hospital in Gurugram, India. He holds the position of Chief Cath Lab & TAVI (Unit I) and specializes in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, TAVI/TAVR, and Structural Heart Diseases. Dr. Chaurasia’s educational journey includes graduating from JIPMER, Pondicherry, and completing his MD in Internal Medicine from AIIMS, New Delhi. He further pursued his DM in Cardiology from SCTIMST, Trivandrum. His postgraduate training was enriched with a fellowship in Complex Coronary and Structural Heart Disease from GOKI, Budapest, Hungary, where he worked for about three years.
He is nationally and internationally recognized for his work in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR), being one of the first proctors for TAVI in India. With more than 1000 TAVI/TAVR procedures to his credit, Dr. Chaurasia has also performed Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement (TPVR) in the smallest conduit in India and has a special interest in Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacements (TMVR), BMV, and Mitra-clip.
In addition to his expertise in TAVI, Dr. Chaurasia is proficient in complex coronary interventions, including Left Main intervention, Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO), and other complex procedures. He has performed over 10,000 cardiac procedures, including ASD, VSD, PDA, pulmonary AV fistula device closures, and has a special interest in carotid and aortoiliac interventions, including intervention for aortic aneurysm and dissections (TEVAR and EVAR).
Dr. Chaurasia is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology. He has been a course director, co-director, and faculty for many national and international conferences, training many doctors in TAVI and other procedures in India and abroad.
