Dr. Giriraj Bora is a renowned Liver Transplant and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) Surgeon with over 25 years of surgical experience. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Liver Transplant Department at Artemis Hospital, Gurugram, Delhi NCR, India.
His academic and professional training is exceptionally prestigious, having completed his MBBS and MS from the SMS Medical College, Jaipur, followed by a highly competitive MCh in GI Surgery from the G.B. Pant Hospital (MAMC), New Delhi. To reach the pinnacle of transplant medicine, he completed a long-term Fellowship in Liver Transplantation at the prestigious Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, where he was part of one of the busiest transplant teams in the world.
Dr. Bora has been a core member of teams that have performed over 1,500 liver transplants, including complex Living Donor Liver Transplants (LDLT) and Pediatric Transplants. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in performing TIPS, TARE, TACE, Blood Group Incompatible (ABO-Incompatible) Transplants, and managing high-risk cases of acute liver failure. Beyond transplantation, he specializes in complex GI oncology, including surgeries for Gallbladder Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer (Whipple’s procedure), and Liver Resections.
He was honored with the Young Investigator Award of the ILTS in 2013 and a Travel Award in 201 and has published numerous papers in international journals. He is an active member of the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS).
